The Sun and The Moon

The sun and the moon

I ask the moon how he’s been?

Heard the sun ran away and left him

She got the days and the blue skies

But he always shined brightest at night

He knows with her gone he’ll spend years alone

But he waits for the night she’ll come back home

Briefly eclipsing the pain

Suffered every second while waiting

And as they collide, quickly exchanging “I love you’s”

The night and the day call them back to

A reality where they’re forced to shine bright

Lighting the world, with only darkness inside

As she goes left, he drifts right

Leaving only the memories and red light

Those few seconds where love remains

Forbidden lovers torn apart by space

And the world keeps spinning round

As this epic love story repeats now

They’ll float further and further

Away from each other

Until one day they’ll cross paths again

And for those few moments

The world will be blinded by them

The sun and the moon.
